Acorn Bank Watermill would at one time have had three waterwheels and four sets of stones. At the moment we have one of the waterwheels in working order with the second one in the planning stages for being rebuilt. One set of stones is in working order and has a tun in place so that it can be used to grind flour.

The Covid-19 pandemic meant that we were unable to get into the mill at all during 2020. We started cleaning and maintenance work in March 2021. Having sat idle for over a year the mill machinery needed quite a bit of tender loving care from the maintenance team but we were able to start milling at Easter 2021.
