Restoration

The restoration of the mill was carried out in two main phases. Initially the buildings were rebuilt between 1989 and 1992 with the aim of showing what the mill would have looked like but without restoring it to a working state.

In 2007 a small group of volunteers determined to get the mill turning again and to aim to grind flour. This was achieved in 2011 after a lot of hard work. The team who started out on this project are shown below.

The progress of the work to get the mill into a working state over the months and years is documented on the Acorn Bank Watermill Blog.
